Q & A

PRAMP AND IPR:: DOES IT WORK FROM LOWEST RESISTANCE NOUMBER I UPWARDS? WHICH ONE IS INHALING AND WHIC ONE IS EXHALING? DR C.G.F. Bester asked on 07/10/2023

The PRAMP (Pressure Ramp Up) and IPR (Intelligent Pressure Release) on the Resvent iBreeze BiPAP machine handle inhaling and exhaling respectively. PRAMP begins at the "lowest pressure setting," increasing gradually to the prescribed level for a more comfortable inhalation as you fall asleep. On the other hand, IPR reduces the pressure during exhalation for ease of breathing out. Additionally, the EPAP (Expiratory Positive Airway Pressure) setting can be adjusted to tailor the pressure relief during exhalation to your comfort. In summary, PRAMP is for inhaling, starting from the lowest pressure, and IPR along with EPAP settings manage exhaling.
